After securing my now usual foundation stone and two platforms, I made a conscious effort to build the cairn as high I could.  D'oh.

It wasn't much fun as I was struggling to reach a goal that would always want "just one more" and could never be good enough.

When the seventh stone finally found it's balance, I simultaneously caught myself holding my breath and noticed my use of that illusory formula, struggle+goal=accomplishment.  Isn't it funny how we seem to learn the same lessons over and over?

I stopped here to rest during a long drive to Santa Cruz, and was pleased to find that the cliffside had dropped many flat-sided stones in anticipation of my arrival.

It took a few well-timed trips to get the stones over to this location, and I ended up getting soaked.     25/15+

After the hike to the parking lot, I looked down and saw it take a splash. It continued standing strongly as I drove away.   A few hours later on my way home I stopped and all the stones had completely washed away.
