Body Language Energywork
Underlined words link to their glossary definitions.

What is energywork?
Energywork is techniques and processes that positively shift energy.  "Energy" in this context means the causes of tension in the body, stress in the mind, or weight on the heart.  It does not refer to the tension itself nor to the results of that tension.
What is body language?
Body Language is both the non-verbal communication that we project to others and also the internal messages that we receive from ourselves.
What is body language energywork?
This avenue of personal development uses body language cues to identify the energetic root cause of tension or stress.  The facilitator reads the client's body language to help the client identify and release the cause of tension or stress.
How does it work?
Energetic tension that we feel is the result of a separation of a trauma into two halves. One side being a thought (judgment or memory in the mind) and the other felt as muscle tension in the body.   Much the same way that a rubber band gains tension when we stretch it, this bi-location of our trauma creates tension through time.  By locating both halves, the facilitator gives opportunity to the client to return the two halves into a whole.  Very quickly, two things happen.  First, the "rubber band" effect is diminished - the tension created by the separation vanishes.  Second, the body recognizes that the trauma has no location in present time (and is therefore no longer real), and disappears it into conscious memory.
Are you a healer?
No.  This work is not "therapy."  I am a trainer-facilitator, whose job it is to teach your body the value, and mechanics, of letting go.  The person letting go of the old stress is the client - therefore they are the "healer."  For most clients, the body's inner wisdom learns the mechanics of the process within 5 or 6 sessions.  After that, the facilitator's job is over.  Clients gain the ability, in various degrees, to release stress as they discover it.
What benefit can I receive?
Clients have reported a full range of benefits.  Generally, the first report is a reduction in stress levels, both in the body and mind.  Sudden happiness, increased self-esteem, a greater connection to others and a sense of spiritual relief are common.  Latent tendencies or patterns and irrational fears also tend to fall away as old traumas disappear into the past.  Click on the testimonials button below to read what some clients have said.
How do I prepare?
Wear comfortable clothes and be curious to learn more about yourself.  Being aware of chronic tension or long standing issues helps bring them to the surface to be healed.  Your willingness to be responsible for your results is the foundation of your body's ability to clear away its old issues.  If you show up with an expectation to be healed by an outside authority while you passively wait, you will be dissapointed.  This work most benefits people who are seeking to learn a way to release the past and be more themselves, in the moment.
Does it last?
The pre-attentive mind (ego or subconscious) trusts repetition.  Therefore after the first session, the client's body may attempt to recreate the now "missing" tension.  It may or may not succeed, depending upon the client's previous experience with shifting.  The way to bypass this mechanism, if it is active, is to have several sessions in a row (2-3 sessions in a month) to give ego the repetition it desires.  Once ego trusts "letting go", all results are permanent.
How do I know this isn't just more new age nonsense?
Results tell the truth.
How can I try these techniques?
Currently I accept clients at Moksha Life Center in San Francisco.  You can view my current flyer online for the schedule.  I also travel to do demonstrations, when invited.  If you are in the Greater Bay Area and have a minimum of five other interested participants, I will come to your location to do a body language demonstration (and sessions if desired).  Contact link.
Can I take a facilitator training?
Anyone can be trained.  However, learning the processes and body language cues is not a guarantee for success.  Humility, integrity and empathy are as important as the geometry and physics of this field.  Grounded empaths are the most successful at this work.  Others may need to put extra work into developing their skills of discernment and compassion.
